Rugged and durable lanyard specifically designed for LE applications

Guardian's Cable Leading Edge (LE) Lanyard is one of the few in the industry rated for LE use. While ANSI lanyard regulations don't currently specify LE testing, Guardian has adopted LE testing requirements for SRLs and applied them here, and our lanyard passed with flying colors.

Β

Guardian's leading-edge-capable Cable Lanyard combines the lightweight durability of a fixed-length lanyard with the flexibility of foot-level tie-off that permits up to 12' of free fall. Cable Leading Edge Lanyards are constructed with vinyl-coated 1/4" galvanized steel cable combined with our proprietary high-efficiency external shock absorber, which keeps maximum and average arrest forces low during deceleration. Cable Leading Edge Lanyards are available in single- or dual-leg configurations with steel rebar or snap hooks. A high-visibility orange shock pack cover helps confirm proper application suitability even from a distance.

  • High-visibility cover protects shock absorber
  • Allows up to 12’ of free fall
  • Durable 1/4” vinyl coated steel cable
  • Dual-leg models for 100% tie-off

    FAQS

A LE application is one where the lifeline could potentially come into contact with the edge of the fall hazard, cutting or severely damaging it. OSHA defines a "Leading Edge" as a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level. However, the industry has also adopted the term "Leading Edge" for products, in reference to what's actually considered "Sharp Edges". This is derived from the ANSI standard referencing an edge with a radius of no more than .005". At an edge this sharp, and/or an application where the tie-off anchor is at foot level, non-LE lifelines are susceptible to being cut or severely damaged in the occurrence of a fall - particularly one with potential for swing.
